The South African Guild of Actors (SAGA) is a powerful, unified voice for actors in the film, television, stage, commercial and corporate sectors in South Africa. The Guild exists to promote professionalism in the performance industry, and to protect and enhance actors' working conditions, compensation and benefits.

SAGA fights for actor's rights

The Copyright Amendment Bill and the Performers Protection Amendment Bill ensure that actors will never again be forced to sign away all their rights.  But international and local media organizations are lobbying hard to stop these Bills at the NCOP.  Why? So can continue to exploit South African talent, and make millions of on top of their already significant profits.

The National Assembly has approved both Bills. The final hurdle before being signed into law is approval by The National Council of Provinces during March 2019, before the dissolution of Parliament ahead of elections in April.

Sign our petition to make that as an action you will never again be mocked and told to ‘either take it or leave it’.  The Bills stand for industry transformation and they have already been adopted by the National Assembly!
